Description
Tigo Access Point (TAP) – Wireless Communication Unit
The Tigo Access Point (TAP) is a key component for Tigo's solar monitoring platform. It wirelessly connects with TS4-A modules (e.g., TS4‑A‑O, TS4‑A‑S, TS4‑A‑M) to enable module-level monitoring and rapid shutdown capability when paired with a Cloud Connect Advanced (CCA) unit.
⚙️ Technical Highlights
-
Communicates wirelessly with up to 300 TS4 units per TAP, within a 10 m (33 ft) to 35 m (115 ft) range.
-
Supplies grid-status signals for module-level rapid shutdown (typically required by NEC and IEC standards) via TS4 MLPE devices.
-
Tool-free installation: mounts directly to module frames using snap-on bracketing, with quick setup via the Tigo SMART App.
-
Robust electrical and environmental specs:
-
Input voltage: 5–25 V DC; Power consumption: ~0.5 W average, 1 W peak
-
Dimensions: ~126 × 130 × 27 mm; Weight: ~227 g (0.5 lbs); Rated IP68 / Type 4R; Operating range: −30 °C to +70 °C.
-
-
Interfaces via RS‑485 cable to the CCA for cloud connectivity and advanced data logging capabilities.
✅ Ideal for:
Solar installations using Tigo TS4 optimizers, requiring module-level performance visibility, NEC/IEC compliant rapid shutdown, and scalable communication architecture.
